Sir Alexander James Peacock (1861-1933), premier of Victoria, was born in 1861 at Creswick, Victoria. He was first elected to the Legislative Assembly in March 1889 for Clunes and Allendale (Allendale from 1904), was unopposed in the four following elections and held the seat for forty-four years.
